Job Description: Business Overview The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) drives the growth of Rakuten's ecosystem by delivering innovative, high-quality technology platforms characterized by integrated control and strategic partnerships.

Within TPD, the Cloud Platform Supervisory Department (CPSD) develops and manages Rakuten's state-of-the-art cloud platform, empowering global scalability and accelerating innovation across its diverse business units.

Position: Position Details As a product leader of Data Center Strategy Office, you are responsible for, under the manager's direction, strategic planning, mid-to-long term capacity planning, and data center development. This role requires experience in strategic planning, investment, DC capacity planning, technical lead, internal/external stakeholder management, and team development to accelerate Rakuten’s Data Center’s growth.

1) Data Center Vision and Policy Formulation - Formulation and management of data center business plans - Formulation of long-term growth strategies for data centers - Development of strategic synergies across the entire Rakuten Group with other internal service organizations - Strategy formulation for external sales services of data centers and cloud

2) Data Center Demand Management and Utilization Promotion - Hearing and summarizing needs and requirements from internal and external stakeholders - Formulation of necessary future requirements - Planning for optimal data center resource allocation based on needs and required capacity

3) Data Center Revenue and Expense Management - Planning and management of cost allocation for data center resources - Formulation of medium-to-long-term allocation plans, considering future data center maintenance and operation costs

4) Data Center Medium-to-Long-Term Procurement Plan - Formulation of inventory management and procurement plans aligned with future demand - Formulation of allocation plans considering data center market prices - Formulation of data center procurement and development plans linked to allocation strategy

5) AI/ML Technology/Green Initiatives - Proposal, planning, implementation, and effectiveness measurement of business efficiency improvements/automation utilizing the latest technologies Mandatory Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in data center strategic planning and development - Background in complex commercial development required in data center industry - Ability to solve problems using analysis, technical and organizational expertise - Ability to communicate effectively with strong presentation skills, and the ability to impact and influence stakeholders - Strategic approach and a track record of contributing to organizational growth - Strong teamwork mentality, working well with internal and external team members, and able to drive execution through collaboration and networking - Fluent in Japanese and English #engineer #productmanager #technologyplatformdiv
