About this role
The News Anchor is the trusted voice and face of our newsroom—delivering compelling, accurate, and engaging content across all platforms. This role combines strong on-air presence with editorial leadership to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.
• Presents news stories and other content for all platforms, including CTV Digital • Host a Digital CTV Show • Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and production quality. • Write and deliver clear, concise, and engaging news stories. • Produce newscasts and provide clear direction to team members. • Collaborate on writing, copy editing, research, and coordination of news programming. • Report from the field as assigned and conduct interviews. • Respond quickly to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations. • Participate in promotional activities and community events. • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. • Edits video clips as assigned. • Writes content for the website and other digital platforms. • Engage with viewers and users on social media.
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience. • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to ad-lib when necessary. • Minimum of four years’ experience in news reporting or anchoring (varies by market size). • Strong on-air presence and excellent news judgment. • Broad knowledge of local and national current events, history, and key issues. • Leadership experience with the ability to guide, motivate, and mentor others. • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong listening and problem-solving skills. • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Flexibility to work any shift. #Ll-Onsite
