Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. All weather conditions. Tasks: Plan the incorporation of landscape structures. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Assess the health of lawns. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Utilize hand and power tools. Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees. Lay sod or seed. Clean and maintain equipment. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment. Perform snow maintenance operations including handling snowmaking and snow removal equipment. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Type of product: Power tools.
