Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Machinery manufacturer. Metal product fabrication industry. Platework manufacturing company. Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Position heated or cooled metal pieces on die of press or other forging machinery. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Overhead Crane Certification. Forklift Operator Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Overhead crane. Power presses. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
