Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Tasks: Diagnose livestock health issues. Direct farm feed inventory activities . Handling animals. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Treat livestock health issues. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Maintain work records and logs. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
