We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician, Level 1 to join the Facilities Department. At Eataly, this position is referred to as a Facilities Technician.The Facilities Technician serves as the point of contact for the assigned shifts and takes the necessary actions to ensure that all facilities are in proper working order. Reports to the Area Facilities Manager.Performs assigned day-to-day preventive maintenance and on-demand requests from Department ManagersCompletes appropriate maintenance records in an accurately and timely mannerPerforms assigned daily inspections and building roundsAssists with troubleshooting and basic repairs of buildings and installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, drains, and HVACAssists with maintaining lighting systems throughout the facility, maintaining fixtures, and replacing bulbs and lampsObserves how to use electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problemsPerforms manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materialsUnderstands and follows manuals, and reads and interprets circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematicsProvides excellent customer service and respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed with ability to know when to escalateObserves and adheres to safety and health rules by following proper LOTO, PPE, ergonomics, working at heights and machine guardingComplies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safetyOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1+ years of facilities maintenance or equivalent experience/trainingBasic working knowledge of one or several trade skills, such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC or general repairEntry level proficiency with power toolsBasic computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to problem solveJob RequirementsAvailability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends, with off-hours support when requiredAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including stooping, standing, walking, bending and squattingCompensationCompensation for this role is CAD $24.00 hourlyThis position has been posted to fill a current vacancyAdditional InformationBenefits and PerksMedical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental LeaveRRSPFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand more!Eataly is committed to creating and maintaining a workplace that is free from harassment and discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
