We encourage you to Choose GNB!Who we are:The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is seeking to fill the role of Data Sharing Platform Lead, reporting to the Director of Corporate Data within the Strategic Alignment & Project Management Office (SAPMO). The Data Sharing Platform (DSP), built on Microsoft Fabric, is the department's central environment for linking, managing, and sharing education data across early childhood and K-12.SAPMO is part of the Policy, Strategic Planning & Project Management Office (PSPPMO) Division, alongside Policy & Legislative Affairs, Teacher Certification, and Corporate Data. Together, the division provides integrated support for strategic planning, performance measurement, data governance, analytics, and legislative alignment across the education system.The Data Sharing Platform Lead will play a key role in strengthening the department's ability to use high-quality, well-governed data to support planning, monitoring, evaluation, business intelligence, and emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives.What you will do:The successful candidate will lead the development, governance, and ongoing advancement of the Data Sharing Platform (DSP), the department's central environment for linking, managing, and sharing education data using Microsoft Fabric. This position will support the Corporate Data unit in ensuring that data assets used for planning, monitoring, evaluation, business intelligence, and advanced analytics are high-quality, secure, accessible, and well-governed. The DSP lead plays a key role in identifying and addressing data gaps across the education system and enabling evidence-based decision-making at all levels. Key responsibility areas within the unit include:Determine what data is needed and build governance foundationsIdentify and assess data needs and gaps, determine which datasets are required to support departmental priorities, and develop plans for bringing those datasets into the platform.Develop and maintain the Data Governance Program for the platform, establishing the standards, policies, and requirements that guide data quality, data architecture, data modeling, security, interoperability, and master data.Establish metadata documentation to support transparency, data understanding, and consistent use of datasets across the department.Establish and chair the Data Governance Committee and support program areas that manage specific datasets.Bring data into the platform and ensure alignmentTranslate data governance standards into clear platform requirements, ensure technical work aligns with these standards, validate that Microsoft Fabric structures comply, and provide recommendations to support final decisions.Oversee the onboarding and integration of new datasets by assessing readiness, verifying quality, and ensuring that each dataset meets the governance standards and requirements before entering the platform.Maintain platform security, access, and enterprise responsibilitiesEnsure the platform is stable, secure, and scalable, workingwith Service New Brunswick (SNB), cybersecurity teams, privacy offices, and internal technical staff.Manage user access to the platform including onboarding, monitoring, and compliance with privacy and security requirements.Support in the development and interpretation of Data Sharing Agreements and Open Data datasets by providing dataset specifications, governance requirements, and risk considerations.Enable analytics, data literacy, and system adoptionCollaborate with the Corporate Data Analytics team to ensure timely and governed access to datasets for monitoring, evaluation, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and departmental initiatives.Develop training, guidance, and commun
