Description of Post

The Office of the Registrar and Chief Academic Officer (R&CAO) is responsible for the leadership and overall coordination of academic policies and academic quality assurance, along with the provision of all student support services in the University. Working directly with the Deans of Faculty and other heads of function, the Office of the R&CAO works to ensure and promote the quality and development of the academic programme portfolio, planning to ensure sustained relevance and effectiveness.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

Candidates must have:

Honours Primary Degree in any discipline or equivalent professional qualification.

A minimum of 5 years post qualification relevant experience

Desirable

A post-graduate qualification, at Masters or Doctoral level. Extensive experience of successful leadership and management at senior level, with a proven record of successful project delivery against agreed strategy, timeframes and budget. A proven track record of leading and managing organisational change and driving excellent performance in a higher education context. Experience in analysing higher education data, reporting these outcomes to senior management and delivering on required actions. Significant experience of developing effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational objectives. Demonstrable experience of effective financial management, including budgetary responsibility. Excellent communication, analytical and report writing skills. Effective people management and problem-solving skills and the ability to lead, manage and motivate a diverse range of staff to deliver to targets and deadlines. High level of ICT skills and knowledge of information management systems. Commitment to fairness, inclusivity and the promotion of equality and diversity.

Salary

Salary Scale Senior Lecturer III: €103,270 - €132,825:

Candidates may be considered for incremental credit above point 1 of the scale for previous relevant industry experience in accordance with University Policy.
