Description of Post

ATU wishes to recruit a Faculty Operations Manager to support the operation of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, providing strategic and operational management support to the Dean and faculty academic management team.

The Faculty Operations Manager will report to the Dean of Faculty and will be a member of the faculty management team, working alongside the Heads of School and Heads of Department within the faculty. Under the direction of the Dean of Faculty, the Faculty Operations Manager will ensure operational efficiency and professional management support is provided to the academic leadership of the faculty.

This Senior Management position (Fixed term contract until 31 August 2030) requires a combination of significant organisational, leadership and communication skills.

Essential Qualifications

An Honours degree. Minimum of five years relevant post-qualification experience. This experience will normally be in industry, research or in appropriate third-level education, or a combination of these. Excellent organisational and management experience and a proven track record in leadership. Demonstrated experience of management or collaborative work with staff across a broad range of functions such as some/all of the following – Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quality Assurance and/or Academic Affairs. Strong communication, people management and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable operating at senior executive level. Strong business and organisational development experience, with demonstrated success in planning and leading initiatives of scale from early-stage development Excellent planning skills including knowledge and experience of data collection, audit preparation, budgeting, financial reporting, report writing, business planning, maintaining risk registers, etc. Capable of exercising judgement and making decisions on a wide range of administrative matters.
