Position Description: The National Account Variance Specialist is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and explaining financial and operational variances across secondary supply accounts. This role partners closely with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to identify trends, ensure accuracy in reporting, and provide actionable insights that drive business performance. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities • Analyze variances related to secondary supply invoices for vendor partners daily, weekly, quarterly.
• Investigate and explain variances between forecasted and actual commissions and invoice credits received
• Partner with external vendor partners, Merchandising, National Account Analysts, and Pricing teams to understand drivers behind performance fluctuations
• Prepare detailed variance reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership
• Identify risks and opportunities within national account portfolios related to commission set ups and provide actionable recommendations
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes by providing historical commission trend insights and variance explanations
• Ensure data accuracy by reconciling financial data across multiple systems
• Develop and maintain reporting tools and models to improve efficiency and visibility
• Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness
• Support ad hoc financial analysis requests from senior leadership Competencies Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree 2 years of related experience preferred
