What this Job Entails:
The Network Engineer I is a focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
Technical Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot issues across networking, systems, and basic power infrastructure domains, including UPS configuration, power distribution, and standard datacenter power connectors (e.g. 20A and 30A circuits)
• Diagnose and resolve physical layer outages, including device failures, boot issues, cabling faults, and power-related problems
• Install, rack, cable, and maintain network infrastructure and associated equipment
• Triage and resolve tickets related to network infrastructure and cabling issues
• Serve as an on-site resource for networking infrastructure and related physical systems
• Troubleshoot and replace network hardware as needed
• Manage inventory in accordance with our standards
• Act as remote hands and eyes for engineering teams during deployments and incident response
We are looking for:
• Hands-on experience with wired, optical, and wireless networking equipment
• Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
• Familiarity with basic network troubleshooting and device bring-up
• Experience working with ticketing systems such as Jira or similar tools
• Ability to work independently and manage on-site priorities effectively
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain a regular on-site presence based on an agreed schedule
Skills
• Experience with rack and stack, structured cabling, and hardware lifecycle management
• Experience supporting office, lab, or datacenter environments
• Familiarity with inventory management and spare parts tracking
• Exposure to enterprise networking environments and tooling
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
• Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
• Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
• Must be able to use a computer
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively
• Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Salary Range $59,812.00 - $94,440.00 USD (Salary) • Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit. • Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position. Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
