VENUE/PROPERTY INFO Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is consistently ranked as the #1 entertainment venue in the state. Our venue boasts a full calendar of events including concerts, comedy shows, family shows, sporting events, banquets, conventions, trade shows, meetings, and more. With the attached Convention Center and Arena, we are the largest venue between Omaha and Fargo, and from Minneapolis to Denver.

THE ROLE The part-time dispatcher position is responsible for monitoring our security systems and ensuring the safety of the building at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Secures property and facility. • Locks and unlocks facility doors. • Conducts routine property walks. Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering. Tour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure. • Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees. • Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises. • Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response. • Monitor security systems and cameras. • Notifies appropriate members of management or emergency systems when necessary. • Completes incident reports and logs as required. • Responds immediately to emergency situations – answer alarms and investigate disturbances. • Keep a record of all keys and equipment that are signed out. • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED • One year of security experience in a similar environment is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising judgment, initiative, and problem solving. • Strong customer service skills. • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required. • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Ability to work irregular hours including night shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic. • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite. • Will be subject to acceptable background check. • Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
