About this role
Role Purpose The Manager, Insurance Services will be responsible for driving the success of the Protect module in Kenya, overseeing design, distribution, and growth of embedded insurance solutions for workers across formal and informal sectors. This role will focus on execution — building strong insurance partnerships, supporting sales, ensuring operational excellence, and promoting adoption of insurance services through Power’s platform.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
Support B2B2C sales strategy to onboard corporates, employees, SACCOs, and gig platforms with Protect offerings.
Work closely with the business development team to integrate insurance into pitches and grow adoption.
Work with activation teams to drive uptake and understanding of core offerings.
Achieve revenue and uptake targets for insurance products within the Protect module.
Strategic Partnerships
Manage day-to-day relationships with insurance companies, brokers, and insuretech partners.
Negotiate and maintain commercial terms that benefit customers while driving business sustainability.
Coordinate with core partners to ensure successful distribution and product rollouts.
Product & Operations
Work with product and tech teams to improve customer onboarding, registration, and claims processes.
Monitor product performance and recommend enhancements to ensure Protect offerings remain competitive.
Ensure regulatory compliance with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA).
Serve as the Principal Officer for Power’s insurance agency.
Team Management & Support
Provide training to BD Managers, Customer Success, and Customer Support on insurance products to ensure consistent messaging and sales execution.
Market Growth & Reporting
Identify opportunities to expand Protect’s footprint across health, life, and asset insurance segments .
Track KPIs including policy uptake, premium volumes, and claims ratios; prepare regular reports for leadership.
Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity in insuretech and microinsurance.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences, Insurance, Business, Finance, or related field;
A professional insurance certification (COP, ECOP, ANZIIF, etc.) or regulatory license (IRA agent, broker, risk manager) is strongly preferred.
5–7 years’ experience in insurance distribution, partnerships, or product management.
Experience working with or for insurance companies, brokers, or fintech/insurtech players.
Strong understanding of B2B2C and B2C sales strategies and insurance regulatory requirements in Kenya.
Proven ability to build partnerships and deliver results against targets.
