Senior Trade Compliance Specialist
Job Summary:
The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance with applicable import, export, customs, and international trade regulations across Array Technologies' global business operations. This role serves as a trusted subject matter expert and works closely with Commercial, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Legal teams to provide guidance on trade compliance requirements that support business objectives while minimizing regulatory risk.
The ideal candidate possesses deep trade compliance expertise, strong knowledge of import and export regulations, and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to business transactions, customer opportunities, supplier relationships, and operational activities.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with applicable import, export, customs, sanctions, and trade regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on trade compliance matters across Commercial, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, and other business functions.
• Review and provide guidance on import and export transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform tariff classification, country-of-origin determinations, denied party screening reviews, and trade compliance assessments.
• Support export control compliance activities, including product classifications, licensing requirements, and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) reviews.
• Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to evaluate international business opportunities and identify trade compliance requirements and risks.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into business processes.
• Manage and support relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external trade compliance partners.
• Conduct compliance audits, assessments, and reviews to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and interpret changes in trade regulations and communicate regulatory impacts to stakeholders.
• Maintain trade compliance documentation, records, procedures, and internal controls.
• Investigate trade compliance issues and support corrective action implementation as needed.
• Develop and deliver trade compliance training and awareness programs across the organization.
• Support internal audits, government inquiries, and compliance reviews.
• Promote a culture of compliance through partnership, education, and proactive risk management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in trade compliance, import/export compliance, customs compliance, international trade, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs requirements, tariff classification, country-of-origin determinations, and trade documentation requirements.
• Experience supporting export compliance programs, including EAR classifications and licensing requirements.
• Experience conducting compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to business activities and transactions.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including Commercial, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and Logistics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Professional trade compliance certifications (CCS, CES, LCB, or similar) are preferred.
