Role Overview Location: Wilmington, MA (Hybrid/In-office)
Analog Devices is seeking a Development Manager, Cloud Technologies to lead a high-performing, geographically distributed team of 12–15 software engineers within a regulated MedTech environment. This role is based in Wilmington, MA (with hybrid flexibility) and reports to the Engineering Director. In this role, you will oversee the development and delivery of commercially deployed, cutting-edge medical devices and cloud-based enterprise software solutions focused on cardiopulmonary care. You will ensure these solutions meet the highest standards for quality, performance, security, reliability, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a technically strong and hands-on leader, an experienced software engineer and product builder who has successfully transitioned into a management role while maintaining a passion for technology. You are comfortable engaging at all levels, including diving into code when needed, and thrive in environments that demand both technical depth and leadership excellence. This position requires recent experience leading engineering teams within an enterprise software organization that operates under formal Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Design Controls. While MedTech experience is preferred, candidates from other regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, or aerospace will also be considered. You will work cross-functionally with Architecture, Product Management, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Regulatory teams to drive predictable delivery outcomes, enhance engineering maturity, and ensure continuous audit readiness—balancing compliance rigor with speed, innovation, and scalability.
What You Will Do Team Building and Engineering Management
• Serve as the development manager to a geographically distributed team of full-stack developers. • Build, mentor and coach high-performance engineering team • Foster a culture of AI-powered innovation and technical excellence • Align the skills to the solution roadmap and make decisions to strengthen the engineering capabilities. • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional development and team cohesion • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud operations Delivery Enablement & Execution
• Enable visibility across objectives, milestones, capacity planning, and dependencies. • Ensure timely delivery of the product roadmap. • Sustain strong execution cadence in an agile environment: iteration planning, backlog refinement, daily execution, reviews, and retrospectives. • Improve delivery performance across flow metrics, predictability, and release readiness. • Proactively identify and remove impediments; manage cross‑team dependencies and escalate risks appropriately. • Partner with Architecture, and Product leadership to define measurable delivery outcomes tied to business value. • Contribute technically and architecturally to the solution • Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, especially in Agentic AI. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud solutions.
Regulated SDLC, Security, Privacy & Compliance Alignment (MedTech / FDA 510(k))
• Act as an engineering subject‑matter expert supporting internal and external audits. • Support and implement FDA‑regulated SDLC expectations (requirements, design inputs/outputs, verification, validation). • Promote documentation practices that are disciplined and compliant. • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory partners to align Agile execution with QMS, change control, and release governance. • Support leadership in transparent reporting • Security and Compliance: Implement comprehensive security measures to protect products and solutions. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. • Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure performance. Implement best practices for cloud-based (AWS) resource utilization, • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver cloud solutions that meet their needs.
What You Bring (Required Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field. • Hands‑on software development background in an enterprise software vendor setting • 8+ years of experience in an enterprise software product development environment supporting multiple Agile teams and release trains. • Proven track record of successfully transitioning teams to Agile ways of working. • Demonstrated experience working in a regulated environment with Quality Management System and Design Controls • Experience leading and coaching geographically distributed teams. • Exceptional facilitation skills, with the ability to lead high‑stakes planning sessions and navigate competing priorities. • Strong ability to translate Agile concepts into practical, compliant execution models. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence Engineering, Product, Quality, and Regulatory functions. • Advanced analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities. • Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment. • Proven experience representing SDLC and compliance practices across cross‑functional stakeholders. • Technical SME with Cloud-based technologies (AWS preferred), hands-on knowledge of enterprise software platforms, frameworks, databases. Experience with microservices/containerized architecture utilizing Kubernetes clusters.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field. • Demonstrated knowledge/track record of working with Claude Code, Agent-to-Agent architectures • Demonstrated experience working in a MedTech environment with FDA 510(k) Class II exposure building Software as a Medical Device solutions. • Experience operating in compliance‑driven or safety‑critical product environments.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $138,525 to $207,788. • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
• This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
