Role and Responsibilities: Facilities & Preventative Maintenance
• Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking preventative maintenance schedules for all buildings, utilities, and systems
• Conduct routine inspections of cabins, common areas, back-of-house spaces, mechanical rooms, and grounds
• Perform or coordinate basic repairs related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems
• Support pool and hot tub operations, including water testing, chemical management, documentation, and compliance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest-impacting issues, escalating as needed • Assist with snow removal, groundskeeping, trimming, watering and other seasonal landscaping tasks
• Collect and remove trash and recycling from guest and staff areas
Water, Wastewater & Environmental Systems
• Support operation, monitoring, and documentation of drinking water and wastewater systems
• Assist with inspections, sanitary surveys, and corrective actions to maintain regulatory compliance
• Maintain records related to water quality, maintenance activities, and inspections
• Coordinate with contractors, labs, and regulatory agencies as directed
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
• Assist with compliance related to health, fire, building, and environmental regulations
• Maintain inspection logs, compliance documentation, and audit-ready records
• Support emergency preparedness planning and response (weather events, system failures, public health concerns)
• Assist with seasonal safety trainings and staff education
Integrated Pest Management & Sanitation
• Support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) efforts, including monitoring, exclusion, sanitation, and contractor oversight
• Assist in addressing rodent, bat, and bed bug concerns using preventative, non-chemical best practices
• Coordinate sanitation-related repairs or improvements that reduce pest and health risks
Vendor & Team Coordination
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager to coordinate vendors and contractors for specialty services
• Assist with scheduling, scope review, and follow-up on contractor work
• Collaborate with housekeeping, guest services, dining, and operations teams to ensure guest readiness
• Help train and guide seasonal or support maintenance staff as needed
Inventory, Tools & Reporting
• Assist with tracking tools, supplies, chemicals, and spare parts inventory
• Support budgeting efforts by documenting facility needs and maintenance trends
• Contribute to condition assessments and recommendations for capital improvements
• Maintain organized records of work orders, inspections, and completed projects
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, environmental health, or operations
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and facility systems
• Experience with water treatment, wastewater systems, pools/hot tubs, or environmental compliance strongly preferred
• CPO certification or willingness to obtain (preferred)
• Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, local health and building codes)
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to documentation and detail
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, prioritize tasks, and work independently
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach
Physical & Work Environment:
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks regularly
• Comfortable using tools, equipment, and safety gear
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or emergencies
