<p><strong>POSITION AVAILABLE - New World Mosgiel</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Checkout 2IC</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Full time: 32 – 40 hours</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Come and join our leadership team!</p> <p> </p> <p>We are looking for a friendly person with excellent customer service skills and proven leadership experience to join and help to lead our busy checkout team while supporting our Checkout Manager as the Checkout 2IC.</p> <p> </p> <p>The days of work for this role will be Tuesday – Saturday from 32 – 40 hours per week. </p> <p> </p> <p>Hours will be discussed at the interview stage and will include some evenings until 9.15pm.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The responsibilities of this role include;</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer issues.</li> <li>Working with the Checkout Manager and other Supervisors to lead the Checkout team including providing feedback, coaching, and training.</li> <li>Creating rosters to ensure the team are working efficiently as well as meeting customer needs</li> <li>Working with the Checkout Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Checkout department.</li> <li>Doing varying tasks which may include checkout operating, packing, managing Self-Checkout lanes, online concierge, Lotto, cleaning and trolleys.</li> <li>Being in sole charge of the Checkout department and being responsible for opening and closing the Checkout department as required.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>You will have the following attributes;</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>A minimum of one year's experience in a supermarket checkout supervising role or similar retail environment</li> <li>High level of initiative and commitment</li> <li>Solid computer skills including the ability to use spreadsheets</li> <li>Well-developed time management skills</li> <li>Sound problem solving and decision-making skills</li> <li>Lotto Operators certificate (preferred)</li> <li>Liquor Licence Controller Qualification</li> <li>Liquor Manager’s Certificate</li> <li>A commitment to excellent customer service</li> <li>Great communication, leadership, and team-building skills</li> <li>Flexibility to pick up extra shifts</li> <li>Fantastic organisation and resilience</li> <li>Good personal presentation</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>What’s in it for you?</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Permanent full-time role available </li> <li>Engaged and friendly team mates</li> <li>On the job training and support</li> <li>Opportunity to learn new skills</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but full training can be provided to the right person.</p> <p> </p> <p>Applicants must have NZ Citizenship, NZ Permanent Residency or a valid NZ work permit.</p> <p> </p> <p>Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so don't delay in expressing your interest!</p> <p> </p> <p>We are only able to contact short listed candidates due to the high number of applications we receive for advertised roles.</p> <p> </p> <p>Applications will close 9pm Sunday 7th June unless the position is filled prior.</p>
