JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with BOS, ISO/TS 16949, IATF requirements, and customespecific standards. • Understand plant and customer KPIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet or exceed targets. • Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA) as required
Continuous Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement across all production quality deliverables • Support advancement of Operation Description Sheets (ODS) • Identify and apply appropriate statistical tools; mentor team members on their proper use.
Advanced Quality Planning & Documentation
• Support PPAP preparation and submission • Obtain internal approvals prior to customer submission • Develop and maintain:
• Control Plans • PFMEA (with Manufacturing Engineering support) • Inspection and containment plans
• Complete all customer-specific Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements.
Customer Interface & Issue Resolution
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers regarding quality concerns • Communicate effectively between customers and plant operations • Visit customer sites as needed • Initiate and manage Quality Alerts through closure • Analyze returned materials and ensure root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes • Prepare and submit 8D reports to customers in a timely manner • Conduct capability studies and ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements
Supplier & Quality Documentation
• Ensure proper preparation and submission of required documentation, including:
• Part Submission Warrant (PSW) • Design records (drawings, specifications, materials) • Process flow diagrams • PFMEA • Control plans • Dimensional results and sample submissions
Systems & Tools
• Utilize customer-specific systems and reporting tools • Maintain accurate records and documentation for quality processes
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related role • At least 2 years of automotive industry experience required • Seating experience is a strong plus
Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of:
• ISO/TS 16949 / IATF standards
• PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans
• 8D problem-solving methodology
• Continuous improvement methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage customer relationships
Certifications (Preferred) • Lean Certification • Problem-Solving Certification • Kaizen Certification
Work Schedule • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 P
