Role Purpose
The Lead Event Management – MEAP & Turkey CIS role is responsible for driving strategic planning, governance, and operational excellence of events across the region.
This role ensures standardized, compliant, and high-impact event execution, aligning regional priorities with global guidelines while optimizing resources and supporting commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Event Planning & Governance
• Develop and implement a regional events strategy aligned with global Commercial Excellence guidelines • Lead annual event planning cycles, including prioritization and budget allocation • Establish standardized frameworks for event planning, approvals, and performance tracking
2. Regional Event Operations Management
• Oversee the end-to-end execution of events across MEAP & Turkey CIS • Manage a wide range of events including: • Scientific conferences • Marketing events • Internal meetings and training sessions
• Partner with affiliate teams to ensure high-quality execution and reporting
3. Leadership & Matrix Management
• Provide functional oversight (dotted line) to country-level event leads and managers • Drive capability building and best-practice sharing across markets • Ensure alignment and consistency in execution across diverse geographies
4. Vendor & External Stakeholder Management
• Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks with external partners (agencies, hotels, suppliers) • Ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and service quality across all engagements
5. Process Standardization & Compliance
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for event management • Ensure adherence to global Abbott compliance, financial, and legal policies • Develop structured processes across markets with varying levels of maturity

• Deliver a unified and governed event management model across the region • Optimize event investments and ROI through prioritization and analytics • Drive cross-market collaboration and knowledge sharing • Ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality event execution
Decision-Making Authority
• Define regional event strategy, KPIs, and success measures • Determine event prioritization and budget optimization across markets • Establish regional frameworks and operational policies for event execution Financial Responsibility
• • Accountable for event budget optimization and cost efficiency across region
Qualifications & Experience Education
• Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing, Healthcare or related field) Experience
• Minimum 3+ years in a multinational environment • 3-5 years in commercial or event management roles (primary or supporting) • Experience in regional or multi-country coordination is essential • Must have a strong command of the English language • Capabilities
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work in matrix and cross-cultural environments • Solid understanding of: • Event operations • Budget management • Commercial processes
