Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital - Endoscopy Status: Full time Shift: Various (United States of America) Schedule Details/Additional Information: Experience (Years/Type): 1Yr. Endscpy R R Experience (Preferred) Specialized Training: oBLS Required Other Skills And Competencies: ODemonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. ODiplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful. OOrganizational Skills Are A Must. OFosters A Teamwork Environment. OMust Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner. Job Description: 1.Assist physician during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. 2.Ensures strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols. 3.Transports patients to the Endoscopic suite. 4.Collects and processes specimens as required. 5.Maitain inventory and order supplies as needed. 6.Stay updated on advancements in endoscopic technology and techniques. 7.Prepares for endoscopic procedures by identifying, selecting and setting up equipment necessary. 8.Inspects all equipment prior to use to ensure proper function. 9.Utilizes and understands sterilization principles in processing endoscopic equipment. 10.Properly identifies specimens. 11.Assists with room setup and clean up. 12.Assists with patient positioning. 13.Assists with data entry. 14.Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients. The age categories to be included are: Neonatal/Infant 0 - 11 months; Pediatrics 1 – 12 yrs; Adolescence 13 - 17 yrs; Young Adult/Adult 18 – 64 yrs; Adult/Middle-Aged 65 - 79 yrs; Geriatric 80+ yrs Careers
