About this role
Our client is a busy community pharmacy based in Carleton Glen, Pontefract (WF8), seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join their healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and supporting day-to-day pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment.
Previous dispensing experience is preferred, and familiarity with Titan PMR is highly desirable. They are looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes initiative, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient service. Immediate start available.
Hours & Pay
Flexible hours ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week£12.71 – £13.00 per hour, depending on experienceACDAs and Pharmacy Technicians are also welcome to apply — salary will be adjusted accordingly to reflect qualifications and experienceWeekdays, with the occasional Saturday morning shift (9:00am – 12:30pm) shared on a rota basis between all staff
Responsibilities
Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirementsAssist pharmacists with medication preparation and distributionSupport medication administration processes, ensuring correct dosages and patient instructions are communicated effectivelyProvide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usageMaintain precise records of dispensed medications and update patient files accordinglyEnsure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety standards at all timesManage stock levels, reorder supplies as necessary, and organise storage efficientlySupport administrative tasks such as processing prescriptions and maintaining documentationWork efficiently to keep up with the demands of a busy pharmacy environment
Skills & Experience
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) is the minimum requirementPrevious experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirableExperience using Titan PMR is preferredProactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the roleStrong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in dispensingExcellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionalsAbility to work collaboratively within a team and thrive in a busy environmentGood understanding of pharmacy software systems and record keeping standardsCompassionate attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality patient support
