An established and growing engineering business is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Draughtsman to join its highly skilled design team in Gloucester.
With over three decades of experience delivering engineering solutions, the company works with customers across several sectors throughout the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of bespoke projects, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings while supporting projects from concept through to installation.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing mechanical designs and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCADSupporting the delivery of automation projects within agreed timescales and budgetsConducting technical surveys at customer sitesParticipating in design reviews and concept development sessionsAssisting with design risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant standardsProviding technical support to Sales, Projects and Manufacturing teamsLiaising directly with customers and suppliersSupporting project engineering activities where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical EngineeringStrong experience using Autodesk Inventor, Vault and AutoCADExperience producing manufacturing and assembly drawingsExperience with pneumatic control systemsPrevious experience within manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, warehousing or automotive environmentsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsThe ability to work both independently and collaborativelyFull UK Driving Licence
