At De Aston School, we are seeking a dedicated and organised part-time Senior Support Officer to join our safeguarding team. This is a vital role at the heart of the school, ensuring that safeguarding concerns are managed effectively, sensitively, and in a timely manner.

Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (Safeguarding) and pastoral colleagues, you will contribute to a culture of vigilance, early intervention, and strong support for vulnerable students. You will play a key role in ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people Experienced in working with young people and/or families, ideally in a school or safeguarding environment Calm, resilient, and confident in managing sensitive and challenging situations Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy and varied workloadA strong communicator, able to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies Skilled in maintaining accurate, confidential records and handling sensitive information professionally Confident in using ICT systems and databases (such as CPOMS or similar) Proactive and analytical, with the ability to identify patterns and respond effectively Able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required Fully committed to safeguarding, equality, and student wellbeing Essential requirements:

GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) Strong ICT skills and experience of using databases Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
