1-year fixed-term post based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative simulation team within Medical Education. The postholder will support the multi-professional simulation programme, contributing to the delivery of high-quality education and training to improve patient care, outcomes and safety.
This is a highly varied role involving the delivery and development of simulation-based education, working closely with clinical and education teams across the Trust. It is well suited to an ST3+ doctor interested in developing skills in education, leadership and programme delivery within a large teaching Trust.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work with clinical teams and education leads to deliver multidisciplinary simulation across the Trust. This includes designing, delivering and evaluating educational interventions to improve understanding of patient safety, including learning from serious incidents and never events. The role will support the development and delivery of simulation programmes for resident doctors, international medical graduates, locally employed doctors, allied health professionals and nursing staff. The post contributes to wider workforce development priorities aligned with the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and the Educator Workforce Strategy.

Qualifications Essential
Full GMC registration with a license to practice at time of appointment. Or NMC or equivalent registration from the governing healthcare professional body. Collegiate examinations complete to ST3+ level for doctors and or equivalent for Nursing and AHP: For doctors oMRCP oMRCS oMRCOG oMRCGP Eligible to enter ST3+ training in chosen specialty/Locally Employed Doctor
Desirable
ALS/ILS in date (+/- instructor) Evidence of having attended a simulation 'Train the Trainers' programme or NHSE Becoming Simulation Faculty course Previous experience in Simulation Pg Cert or Diploma in Education
Knowledge/skills Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with others across the range of professions and levels of seniority Able to work independently and within a formal team structure Competence in independent management of medical emergencies up to the level of an ST3 or equivalent or equivalent nursing/AHP specialty based clinical experience Understanding of project management principles Able to manage simultaneous workstreams and deliver to deadlines IT Skills and computer literacy Confident ability to present in a range of settings
