Staveleigh Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Practitioner to join our supportive, multidisciplinary team for up to 6 sessions per week. Main duties of the job
As a GP at Staveleigh Medical Centre, your daily responsibilities will center around delivering a balanced mix of face-to-face and remote telephone appointments to meet the diverse needs of our patient population. Alongside your clinical sessions, you will manage essential administrative workflows, which includes efficiently reviewing and signing prescriptions, actioning pathology results, and processing incoming clinical correspondence. You will also conduct home visits for vulnerable or housebound patients when clinically indicated, and actively participate in practice meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of our clinical services.

Job Summary
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. The job summary is a summary of the duties and responsibilities within the Work Plan.
Clinical Responsibilities
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage calls, home visits triage visits, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Respond to medical problems presented by temporary residents as required. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organization. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health. To assist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions. Completion of clinically related administrative and non clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service. Providing counselling and health education. Refer patients for further opinions and interventions according to Practice protocols. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions wherever possible). Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
- Fully qualified GP with active registration on the GMC GP Register. - Included on the NHS National Performers List (or eligible for immediate inclusion). - Strong clinical decision-making skills and a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD). - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
