Job summary
An interesting and exciting opportunity has risen for Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive individual to join our healthcare team at HMP Humber . The team includes a wide range of experienced, skilled individuals including nurses, paramedics, clinical support workers, pharmacy technicians, pharmacist, physiotherapist, administration support workers and more.
You will become part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, using your skills, experience and knowledge to help define and deliver care to those with often complex needs. As well as providing excellent care to service users, you will also support colleagues in developing the service.

There are gym facilities on site and as a team that understands and promotes the importance of health and wellbeing, you will have access to this.

Main duties of the job
Assisting with medication administration
Clinical support worker led clinics such as NHS Health checks, Phlebotomy, ECG and QOF related reviews
Supporting registered nurses in delivering emergency care as well as assessing and reviewing patients
Blood borne virus and sexual health screening
First and second night initial reception screening

Person Specification
NVQ level 3 or equivalant Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalant OR Student studying final year of the Registered Nursing Degree OR NHS Care Certificate or relevant clinical experience.
Knowledge Essential
Demonstration of experience of working with people with complex health needs, in a health or social care setting. Understanding and application of confidentiality Experience of nursing practice and clinical procedures. Knowledge of nursing standards gained through qualification or equivalent experience.
Desirable
Knowledge or experience of working within a prison or secured environment setting. Experience in using SystmOne. Experience in responding to emergency situations. Experience of work in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Skills Essential
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining effective working relationships and mitigating conflict
