Salaried GP Opportunity 6-8 Sessions
We are looking to recruit a 6-8 session Salaried GP to join our busy but highly supportive practice located in Houghton-le-Spring with accessible links to Sunderland, Durham and Newcastle.
Our practice prides itself on delivering excellent patient care, reflected in consistently positive patient feedback. This is driven by a strong team ethos, where we value collaboration and maintain genuine respect and support for every member of staff.
We are an established training practice, actively involved in teaching GP trainees as well as medical and nursing students, and we strongly support professional development within the team.
Our most recent CQC inspection (2020) rated the practice as Outstanding, highlighting the high standards of care and the positive working environment we strive to maintain.

Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
Delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population. Provision of services commensurate with the GMS/APMS contract. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance. Effective management of long-term conditions. Process of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.

About us
We have approximately 9940 patients and are based at Herrington Medical Centre. The team consists of 5 GP Partners, a Salaried GP, 1 Advanced Clinical Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 SNA with a strong and supporting Administration Team. We are a GP training practice, and host registrars, Medical Students and Nursing Students. The practice works collectively with The Primary Care Network and ARRS role.

A normal working day will be:
30 patient appointments and home visits, plus all associated paperwork. Review and action blood results. Completion of tasks/scanned paperwork sent to you for review and action. Support and guidance to junior clinical colleagues as required.
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
