Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Band 5 rotation at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Occupational Therapist to gain experience and develop their skills within various specialties, including the acute hospital (elderly care, trauma & orthopaedics, acute stroke, surgery, and medical), inpatient general and stroke rehabilitation and community therapy.
We would love to hear from interested candidates who have a range of occupational therapy experience, which could include clinical student placements as well a post graduate practice.

Main duties of the job
The role will allow the successful candidate to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge in both assessment and rehabilitation, and there are opportunities to work alongside experienced clinicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
The Trust is committed to ongoing staff training and development, including our established preceptorship programme. You will have regular access to clinical and managerial supervision and support to complete clinical competencies. Opportunities to participate in service improvement projects are available, and we have a well-established Band 5 peer support group.

Education, Qualifications and Training Essential
Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC Registered
Desirable
Membership of Professional Body Evidence of Post Graduate Training in specialist area Accredited IT training Evidence of CPD portfolio
Experience and Knowledge Required Essential
Experience of working in a multidisciplinary health care team Experience in a wide range of occupational therapy student placements. Working knowledge of a broad range of conditions and impact on occupational performance.
Desirable
Experience of NHS Acute care work, complex discharge planning Good working knowledge of Occupational Therapy assessments, interventions, outcome measures and models of practice
Skills and Attributes Essential
Ability to present information, written and verbally in a clear and logical manner Ability to demonstrate appropriate engagement with others and understanding of the impact of good and poor communication
