Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a HCPC-registered individual (or working towards registration) with significant experience at STP level or equivalent, on a part-time basis (0.25 WTE).

The role involves undertaking and reporting on highly specialisedrespiratory and sleep investigations, including interpretation of results and providing expert advice to support diagnosis and treatment. You will also contribute to monitoring patients during and following treatment, including within Healthcare Scientist-led clinics, ensuring a high standard of patient care.

You will be responsible for the safe use of complex, high-value equipment, contributing to protocols, calibration, quality control, and the training of colleagues and trainees.

Our service currently supports approximately 7,000 home CPAP and over 200 home NIV patients. As part of a flexible and collaborative team, you will be competent in both routine and advanced respiratory and sleep investigations, with the ability to independently interpret and report findings.

You will maintain an up-to-date training record and actively contribute to CPD, as well as mentor and supervise junior staff. Experience in training, competency assessment, and supporting workforce development is highly desirable.

Knowledge Essential

Relevant theroretical/practical/technical knowledge to underpin the investigative procedures within the department

Qualifications Essential

RCCP registered as Clinical Physiologist BSC in Clinical Physiology or equivalent Computer literacy skills ILS certificate Member of relevant Professional Bodies

Desirable
