Main duties of the job
This is a busy and rewarding role, providing specialist evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment for adults presenting with common mental health problems.
The role requires effective caseload management, delivery against agreed activity and outcome standards, and flexible working in line with service need. The post holder will also contribute to supervision, service improvement and the wider functioning of the team.
You will benefit from a strong and supportive clinical environment, including:
Weekly clinical supervision from an experienced therapist within the service Monthly specialist group supervision with a clinician from the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) Monthly EMDR supervision groups (for clinicians trained in EMDR) Regular CPD opportunities across the Trust The post requires working one evening a week as a shift day i.e. 12-8pm on a regular evening each week.
We come into the office for 2 days per week.

Key responsibilities (including but not limited to)
DeliverNICE-recommended, formulation-driven psychological interventions for depression and anxiety disorders, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
Assess and integrate wider factors into treatment, includingsocial support, employment, and engagement in meaningful activity or voluntary work.
Deliver evidence-based interventions, routinely monitoring outcomes and adapting treatment in response to progress, drawing on a range of theoretical models.
Work autonomously withinBABCP professional guidelines and service policies, taking full responsibility for clinical decisions, including treatment planning and discharge.
Maintainaccurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records in line with service protocols and governance standards.
Conduct thoroughrisk assessments, monitor risk throughout treatment, and develop and implement appropriate risk management plans.
Manage and maintain a clinical caseload in line withagreed activity and recovery targets, working closely with your line manager.
Person Specification
Qualification Essential
CBT Therapist (or in training), from an IAPT High Intensity CBT course. With or entitled to BABCP accreditation (to be accredited within 12 months). OR Clinical/Counselling psychologist with substantial CBT experience and BABCP accreditation and HCPC registered
Desirable
Training in a different therapy modality offered in IAPT (e.g. EMDR, IPT, DIT, Couples, Groups)
Experience Essential
Experience of the assessment and treatment of adult clients presenting with common mental health problems in an IAPT or specialist service, using CBT. Experience of meeting activity and outcome targets in a psychological therapy service. Experience of collecting and recording generic and disorder specific outcome measures to monitor patient progress. Experience of contributing to the running or development of a service, for example through audit or leading a project or service area.

Experience of delivering CBT in a specialist CBT service e.g. CADAT Experience of giving clinical supervision (2 for HI SV and 1 for PWP SV) Experience of working in Lambeth borough / demonstration of knowledge and awareness of local borough
Knowledge Essential
Demonstrates knowledge and experience of delivering CBT formulations and protocolised treatment Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to mental health issues, safeguarding, risk Awareness of racial diversity issues and factors affecting access to mental health care.

Skills and Abilities Essential
