Beechfield Medical Centre is a well-established and highly regarded GP practice based in the heart of the Lincolnshire market town of Spalding, operating from modern purpose built premises. We are looking to appoint several new team membersas we look to develop and enhance the services we are able to offer to our nearly 20,500 patients.The ideal candidateswill have previous primary care experience, however full training will be available to the right candidate. You will have good IT and communication skills. You will need to be able to work under your own initiative with minimal supervision. You must be a good team player, who can proactively manage their workload, even when under pressure, maintaining both accuracy and attention to detail. Being able to communicate clearly and effectively with clinicians, patients and colleagues is essential as is the ability to be flexible.To ensure that the practice is able to deliver its key functions throughout its period of opening, currently 0800-1830 from Monday to Friday, allpositions will be required to work across these times and flexibility to cover colleagues and provide support at busy times will be required.

Job description Job responsibilities

Familiarise yourself with the features and functionality of the clinical system and any associated programmes to ensure knowledge is current and systems are efficiently and effectively utilised.

Escalate technical issues to the appropriate person and/or organisation.

Liaise with key contacts to ensure all staff and work processes are effectively contributing to practice clinical performance and meet contractual clinical requirements.

Compose appropriate patient letters and information leaflets.

To ensure you are familiar with and maintain up to date knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Eclipse requirements and associated read codes.

Proactively manage and liaise with key contacts to address any areas of potential or actual under performance.

Within defined protocols enter and amend clinical read codes in patients medical records.

To assist the Admin Manager with all clerical and administrative duties.

To establish and maintain administrative systems so that computer information is easily accessible and secure.

File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.

To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.

To maintain the computerised clinical system in an accurate and secure manner.

To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.

To receive and dispatch mail as required

To carry out Choose and Book (ERS) procedures for referrals.

Supporting with private work such as: Insurance Reports, Holiday Cancellation Questionnaires, copy records and SARS.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working in Administration

Qualifications Desirable

Experience in General Practice GCSE grade C or above
