Job summary
The Dermatology department at Solihull Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic medical secretary to work 32 hours over 4 or 5 days. The role is to work for one or more consultants and their teams and to work collaboratively as part of the whole departmental team, covering for other secretaries when necessary.
The department is at the forefront of teledermatology and has a wide variety of specialism within it: EB, cancer, paediatrics, allergy testing and Mohs surgery being just some. The hospital itself is next to the town centre and has good transport links to buses and trains.

Main duties of the job
To provide secretarial support to consultants and their teams with particular responsibility for audio typing clinic and results letters. To provide administrative support to the department/clinical team to include scanning, filing, tracking of results, answering GP and patient queries and making appointments.
The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for patients/relatives and carers, undertaking work under the direction of the Medical Secretary Supervisor

Qualifications Essential
*Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4 *Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment

*AMSPAR Certificate/equivalent qualification or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology

*Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience *Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook) *Experience of using IT systems
