Job summary
The Durham Single Point of Access team carries out assessments of children and young people alongside their families and other professionals involved, to identify the best support for them in a time of mental health difficulty. Working with partner agencies to identify external support as well as internal CAMHS pathways. Your role will be to deliver mental health training sessions to parents, carers or professionals to increase their knowledge and understanding of various mental health conditions.
Nursing candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying

Main duties of the job
Join us at an exciting time for the Durham and Darlington CAMHS teams! Our service is undergoing dynamic and exciting service changes in order to improve access for children and young people to CAMHS. The service also aspires to promote patient centred and needs led journeys through the CAMHS service and is looking for professionals to join us to make this a positive experience. Durham Single Point of Access (SPA) CAMHS are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated CAMHS Clinicians to work as part of a fast paced, highly acclaimed multi-disciplinary team. We provide online, telephone and face-to-face evidence-based assessments and access to pathways for children & young people.
You will join the service at a time where a real difference can be made to children and young people's lives. You will be expected to deliver online training sessions to parents, carers, young people and professionals. A training package has been developed, however this will require updating regularly to ensure we are delivering the most up to date evidence based information. Candidates should be skilled professionals with excellent interdisciplinary working skills and interested in contributing to the development of an innovative service.

Person Specification
Qualification Essential
Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work. Evidence of continuing professional development Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (or work towards, within agreed timescale) 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework. Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale. Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable
Leadership or management qualification. CAMHS Degree Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession. Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc. Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups
Experience Essential
Experience working in a multi-discplinary team Working with young people and families Providing clinical supervision. Quality improvement activities
Desirable
Leadership or management experience Significant experience working with children and young people with mental ill health in a community setting. Mentoring students on practice placement experience
