Job summary

We're on the lookout for a driven, passionate, and skilled band 6 Nurse to join our vibrant Children's Therapies and Continence Service. This is a fantastic chance to take on a pivotal role, delivering high-quality, evidence-based continence care to children and young people across North East Essex. You'll be a key member of our multidisciplinary team, championing independence for children and young people aged 3-19 with SEN who present with a wide range of continence needs. You'll deliver specialist assessments, personalised advice, and effective interventions, working closely with families, schools, and partner services to ensure every child receives the highest standard of care and support.

This role is all about empowering children and their families -- helping them build confidence and independence in managing continence needs such as constipation, day and night wetting, and toilet training. Your expertise will make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

The role involves community working across North East Essex , Colchester and Tendring. Driving licence/access to transport may be required.

This is fixed term/secondment post until 2nd August 2027.

Main duties of the job

To be Responsible to the management of children's continence service caseload by planning, providing and reviewing care in response to the assessment of immediate and/long-term needs of patients and their families in clinic or the community setting. To support children and young people aged 3-19 years who experience bladder and bowel difficulties including toilet training, day and night-time wetting for children awaiting or confirmed Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay and Children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and complex health needs. To work with the 0-19 services, integrated health and social care services and for children within Colchester and Tendering. To ensure the application of clinically effective, evidence based and cost-effective practices are in place, for example, the prescription of continence products for children. To improve outcomes for children and young people experiencing bladder and bowel difficulties within the community.
