Are you an enthusiastic pharmacist seeking an opportunity to make a difference?

Royal Papworth Hospital invites you to join our team, providing high quality pharmaceutical care to patients in our specialist cardio-respiratory centre. The pharmacy department sits at the heart of our state-of-the-art, digitally enabled hospital.

In this role, you will be leading on the Research and Innovation domain of our Pharmacy Vision with the overall objective of ensuring the department is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence for research and innovation in Cardiothoracic Pharmacy.

Main duties of the job

To support the DHSC strategic aims for the UK to be a world leader in commercial clinical trials, you will enable the Trust to expand its research portfolio by conducting feasibility assessment and study set-up activities for a number of our Research Delivery Teams based in the VPD Heart and Lung Research Institute adjacent to Royal Papworth Hospital.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Master of pharmacy (or equivalent) degree Post graduate diploma in pharmacy practice or similar subject Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training -- may be acquired once in post Registered as a pharmacist with the GPhC

Desirable

Independent prescribing Postgraduate qualification in clinical research

Experience Essential

Significant hospital experience Experience of managing a service and/or line management Knowledge of legislation and guidance relevant to clinical trials Good verbal and written communication skills Methodical, able to prioritise own work and that of others Ability to problem solve and to appropriately escalate concerns Good personal organisation and time management skills Ability to work unsupervised and to manage self and motivate others Ability to work under pressure and to switch between tasks as priorities change Demonstrates a professional attitude and is able to demonstrate adaptability and innovation in work practice.

Experience working in clinical trials or research
