Job summary

To provide an efficient, cost effective Housekeeping service for the Milton Hospice.

Full & Part Time applications considered Minimum 2 days (5 days full time) over a 7 day working week Working Flexible hours (7am - 3pm, Monday to Friday with days off in the week to accommodate 2 out of 4 weekend coverage)

£25,000 PLUS circa £2,000 per annum in weekend enhancements based on working 2 out or 4 weekends, rates as below: Enhanced Rates - Weekends, Evenings & Bank Holidays: + 30% Saturdays & Evenings + 60% Sundays & Bank Holidays

Main duties of the job

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospice Support laundry services including washing, drying, and ironing Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning materials in line with C.O.S.H.H. regulations Work collaboratively with the wider care team Support a welcoming environment for families Ability to adapt to changing priorities A caring, respectful approach to working in a sensitive environment The ability to meet the physical demands of the role

Job description Job responsibilities

Carry out cleaning duties as laid down in the Hospice cleaning schedule, and as instructed by the Facilities Site Manager or delegated other.Wash, dry and iron clothes, bed linen, towels and soft furnishings using the hospice laundry. If required, to arrange specialist external cleaners for complex tasks.Ensure that all cleaning materials are stored as directed.Understand C.O.S.H.H. Regulations, and ensure that only the cleaning products listed are used.Maintain appropriate stock levels of cleaning materials within all COSHH cupboards on site and request new stock using appropriate process with Facilities Site Manager in good time to replenish.Liaise with the Facilities Site Manager to ensure that Department of Health guidelines on cleaning standards are adhered to.In certain limited circumstances, assist the cook/chef with some catering or cleaning duties.Take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, and ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to.Supervise volunteers, if required.

Skills & Abilities Essential

High standard of cleanliness to meet Department of Health and infection control requirements Ability to identify and respond to unexpected priorities as they occur. Planning and organisational skills.

Computer literate

Current full, valid driving license
