North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) are excited to advertise for a substantive Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology within the Women and Children's Collaborative. The Consultant will have joint extensive responsibilities for Obstetrics and Gynaecology including on call labour ward leadership and obstetric risk management.
There are also opportunities with this role to specialise in specific areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology including Gynae-Oncology (depending on appropriate level of qualifications and experience) to support with the modernisation of the department in line with NHSE's 10 year plan. SPA time will also be factored into job planning to support with effective time management for clinical management duties, clinical audit, research, clinical governance, teaching and reflective practice to enhance the quality of care provided to our patients.

Full Registration with the General Medical Council. Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent Entry into the specialist register

Experience Essential
High level of clinical experience and competence in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Operative Obstetrics & Gynaecology Experience in Postnatal Pelvic Health Management Knowledge in advanced Antenatal care Maternal Medicine Ability to perform major gynaecological procedures such as abdominal Laparotomy and hysterectomy. Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients A special interest to complement that of the existing post-holders - in particular obstetrics and labour ward management, experience in managing various medical problems in pregnant women and risk management Experience in Uro-dynamics & OPH

Hold an ATSM or equivalent experience Experience in Emergency Gynaecology & laparoscopy, including benign operative experience Accreditation e.g. in ultrasound scanning and training Membership of relevant learned societies.
