We are seeking a motivated and passionate Senior Pharmacy Technician or Science Manufacturing Technician who is eager to contribute to the advancement of our Aseptic services. In this pivotal role, you will lead and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team, driving excellence in aseptic service provision. You will maintain and enhance quality and safety within the unit, ensuring all operational processes are guided by robust Standard Operating Procedures and best practice standards.
This post may be included in a forthcoming organisational change process, to create the Transforming Access to Medicines (TrAMs) Service. The nature and timescales of the proposed change will be subject to consultation in conjunction with the All-Wales Organisational Change Policy. Main duties of the job
Manages the Operational aspects of the Aseptic Service. Part of the senior team within Aseptic Services, that is one of four specialist technical areas within pharmacy (logistics, aseptic services, dispensing services and medicines management).
Acts independently and uses initiative to deal with problems, enquiries and urgent requests, deciding when to refer to the pharmacist team leaders.
Uses professional judgement to make appropriate decisions based on evaluating facts and options e.g. skill mix issues, service provision issues etc.

Accredited to undertake the checking of aseptic preparation by other pharmacy staff, including pharmacy graduates and qualified pharmacists.
Accredited as a Product Approver to release aseptically prepared medicines (where applicable)
To train and assess technicians and pharmacists in technical and theoretical aspects of aseptic services.
