Job summary
The post holder will be instrumental in promoting research activity within the Trust and in helping the Trust to achieve its high-level performance targets for research activity. They will lead research delivery of a portfolio of studies in a variety of specialities and recruit to time and target. The Senior Research Nurse/Senior Research Co-ordinator will be responsible for assessing and managing care pathways for patients participating in clinical research studies. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients and the collection and documentation of accurate research data. The post holder will be experienced in all aspects of the research delivery processes and will work with a high level of autonomy and with delegated authority/responsibility from local clinicians acting as principal investigators for the research studies. The post holder will manage and support junior research delivery staff within the department. In addition, the postholder will provide support, training and supervision for any seconded clinical research delivery staff funded to work on studies.
