The Theatre Department are currently looking for a Speciality Team Lead to join our existing band 7 pool to drive theatre efficiency, seek out improvement opportunities & support career development of our existing teams.

This is an exciting time for the department & we are fully committed, following recent business case approval, to build a culture where staff wellbeing & inclusion are of paramount importance.

Therefore, you must possess a leadership style that enables you to coach, drive & positively support theatre staff as we look to deliver operational efficiency & the very highest standards of patient care.

Strong clinical credibility within the Theatre environment and a problem-solving attitude will also be critical to the role as we look to develop new and smarter ways of working.

As a band 7 you will be accountable to the Operational Matron and will provide the main communication route between the theatre workforce and the Senior Management team.

Important note:Given the nature of the role there is an expectation that the post holder/s would be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of operational performance targets within their speciality team/s with the objective of supporting the Trust to meet elective recovery targets.

The successful candidate will provide direction and inspirational leadership primarily to their speciality team/s, but also across the wider theatre footprint, and possess the necessary skills to motivate, encourage and facilitate change where needed.

They will be expected to work as an expert clinical practitioner with the ability to optimise theatre resources and promote service modernisation where possible. This will help ensure excellent patient care and service user satisfaction.
