About this role
Job summary Working with our People and Culture team, you'll provide expert HR advice that supports colleagues through key decisions and helps managers create fair, supportive workplaces. As an HR Advisor, you'll work closely with managers, trade union partners and colleagues across CHCP to resolve issues early, promote positive working relationships and ensure people policies are used well. Your guidance will help teams deliver safe, effective services and improve the overall experience of our workforce.
Main duties of the job What you'll do:
Provide clear, practical advice on employee relations, including sickness, performance, grievance and disciplinary matters Coach managers to use HR policies well, promoting early resolution and FREDIE principles Analyse workforce information to identify trends and support workforce planning Support organisational change, job evaluation and recruitment activity Deliver training to build manager confidence in HR processes What we're looking for: CIPD Level 5 Diploma (or equivalent HR qualification) Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Experience managing a range of employee relations casework Confident communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive or complex situations Ability to build trust, influence decisions and work with diverse teams We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and value ideas that support fairness, inclusion and positive experiences for colleagues and communities.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to degree level in Human Resource Management. Minimum CIPD Level 5 Diploma CIPD Associate membership or higher Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Desirable
Management, coaching, mentoring qualification
Knowledge Essential
Detailed knowledge of up to date UK employment legislation and case law HR best practice and techniques Experience of delivering significant change management which may include TUPE
Desirable
Awareness of HR and the NHS agenda Understanding of NHS terms and conditions of employment including medical staffing
Experience Essential
Able to demonstrate significant and comprehensive operational experience in employee relations casework management within a HR environment such as sickness absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and resolution. Working in a multi professional environment Developing and implementing HR policies and Procedures Working in partnership with trade unions Experience of delivering on in a period of major change Working within the NHS or public service organisation in the field of Human Resources
Desirable
Able to develop training on HR related matters to increase the capacity of line managers. Experience of developing workforce plans Experience of delegation
