You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team and with partner agencies to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs. You will hold a caseload of children and young people on the ADHD and ASC pathways, providing regular review, care coordination and liaison with families, schools and partner agencies. You will provide post-diagnostic advice, guidance and support to children, young people and their parents/carers to promote understanding and effective management of needs.
This is a full-time post; we would consider part-time hours with a minimum of 30 hours, and flexible working may be considered. This is a pan-Dorset post, with a temporary base during the transitional phase, and may require flexible working as the service develops to ensure responsive care. The ability to travel across Dorset is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will assess, formulate and deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, including ASC and ADHD. This will include consideration of associated presentations such as anxiety, low mood, attachment and social difficulties, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual needs.
The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across agencies including education, social care, health and the voluntary sector. You will contribute to multi-agency meetings and integrated care planning, undertake risk assessments, and implement risk management plans in line with Trust safeguarding policies.
You will deliver interventions in a range of settings including clinics, community venues, schools and family homes as appropriate. The post holder will contribute to service development, audit, outcome monitoring and participation activity aligned with the THRIVE framework, maintain accurate clinical records, and engage in regular supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.

Person Specification
Knowledge, skills and training Essential
RNLD or RMN or RN with current NMC registration Or Allied Health Professional with HCPC registration or UKCP registration. Membership of professional body Evidence of continuing professional development Recognised qualification or working towards a qualification in a specific model of therapy relevant to a mental health setting.

ENB998/Mentor Prep/teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
Job specific experience Essential
Post graduate experience Previous experience of working with adults, children and their families who experience mental health difficulties. Previous experience working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or ADHD and/or other neuro developmental disorders Experience in developing and delivering of group work and/or teaching groups of children Experience of multi-agency working Good understanding of Safeguarding issues Ability to manage demanding workload to agreed deadlines and timescales An ability to write correspondence and reports Documented evidence of continuous professional development Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application Knowledge of the standards required by the Care Quality Commission Previous experience working with children and young people in a CAMH service
