MS Band 4 Data Administrator -- Multiple Sclerosis Service
Our Multiple Sclerosis service is a well-established team with 8 specialist Doctors, 2 clinical fellows, 8 Clinical Nurse Specialists and a dedicated administrative team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and specialised service where accurate data management plays a vital role in patient care.
The MS Data Administrator is responsible for the accurate collection, validation, and maintenance of patient data across the service. This includes accurate large data entry.
The post holder will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure data quality, resolve discrepancies, and support the smooth flow of information across the service. The role also involves maintaining structured datasets, supporting reporting and audits, and ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance standards.
Strong IT skills are essential, with a particular emphasis on advanced Microsoft Excel experience. The post holder must be confident working with large datasets, and data validation to ensure accuracy and support service monitoring and improvement.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. It offers the opportunity to contribute directly to patient care while developing data management and analytical skills within a specialised NHS service.
Main duties of the job
Create databases to collect and monitor information to assist with the collection and provision of statistical data as required and the ability to extract, manipulate, analyse complex data sets and communicate them in an easy-to-understand manner
To undertake typing which may include touch type from audio and/or copy type from written documentation which may include letters, emails, reports and any other correspondence as required To distribute and prioritise incoming mail, using judgement and experience to decide which documents require urgent action and which may be passed directly to other areas for action and information
Provide reciprocal cover for Administration Team during annual leave and sickness absence, Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries as appropriate
To carry out any other administrative duties including faxing, photocopying, scanning, emailing, ordering stationery, maintaining and arranging repair of office equipment where necessary
In addition, the role involves providing a comprehensive and responsive administrative and coordination service, working collaboratively with colleagues, service users and stakeholders to ensure an efficient care journey for individuals living with MS

Qualifications Essential
Experience in Excel and strong skills in handling Data *Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C GCSE LEVEL 9-4 *Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an Administrative environment
