Job Purpose
Assist the Theatre Manager in delivering patient care standards in the Theatre, providing scrub expertise and leadership in Ophthalmology.
Objectives
Organise Theatre activities for efficient service and high clinical care standards.Provide clinical expertise and support to the Theatre team.Assist surgeons and ensure daily theatre preparation.Maintain equipment and liaise with departments for smooth operations.Support clinical governance and assist in budgeting.Work in a multi-disciplinary team for pre- and post-operative care.Communicate effectively with patients and team members.Patient Care
Deliver high-quality patient care.Monitor best practices and maintain records per governance policies.Conduct safety checks as per WHO guidelines.Management
Organise staffing levels and maintain documentation.Ensure compliance with policies and manage equipment and stock levels.Uphold infection control standards and health safety policies.Education
Supervise staff and ensure training for delegated duties.Mentor and educate staff and students.Qualifications:
Registered with NMC or HCPC.Strong clinical skills and supervisory experience.Effective communication and planning skills.Immediate Life Support certification.Diploma/Degree in a health-related subject.
