About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care at The Walton Centre for a Clinical Fellow with Neuroanaesthesia experience.

The successful candidate will have adequate Neuroanaesthesia experience to enable them to work solo after a period of familiarisation.

Main duties of the job

In addition to developing clinical mastery of a specific clinical area this post provides the opportunity to develop a number of very useful general skills. Many of these can be achieved at the Walton Centre by working in a friendly, motivated and supportive department.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

MB ChB (or equivalent)

Desirable

FRCA or equivalent

Registration Essential

Current GMC registration without restrictions

Training Essential

One years experience in anaesthesia / critical care (or equivalent)

Desirable

ALS certified Experience of Neuroanaesthesia & Neurocritical care

Career progression Essential

Smooth progression through training consistent with personal circumstances

Clinical skills Essential

Able to provide evidence of completion of the Royal College of Anaesthetists initial assessment of competency for SHOs/ST1 or to compete those competencies within two weeks of taking up the post Able to recognise when senior assistance is needed Uses evidence-based techniques Manually dexterous

Clinical Knowledge Essential

Demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge of anaesthesia and critical care Demonstrate particular knowledge relevant to neurosurgery and neurology Commitment to ongoing medical education

Desirable

Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and awareness of other specialities

Management Essential

Ability to organise oneself and others in a multi-disciplinary team
