About this role

Job summary

To deliver effectively, as part of a team and individually where applicable, specific Ophthalmic clinical assessments including assessment of visual acuity, Intraocular pressure, visual fields and OCT testing. To assist MDT in clinics e.g. Intravitreal injection service, minor operation list.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ophthalmic technicians to work in the ophthalmic department primarily at Royal Free hospital ophthalmology service. We see patients with a number of ophthalmology conditions, including medical retina and glaucoma.

Working in a friendly modern environment you'll carry out Ophthalmic technical and imaging procedures including OCT, Visual fields, visual acuity assessment and intraocular pressure checks.

Previous experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

In addition to the ophthalmology department at Royal Free hospital , we also have ophthalmic clinics in other hospitals within the trust and you will be expected to work there if needed.

This is a part time post 35.5 hours/week. The hours will be worked across 4 days Mon- Friday. Day off will be depending on activity demand. The post involves some 07:30 starts and 18:00 finishes.
