Job summary
Primary Care Sheffield is expanding its innovative ADHD service and is seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support the delivery of high-quality care for patients receiving treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will play a key role in delivering routine physical health monitoring and biometric assessments for patients prescribed ADHD medication. This role supports the safe management of ADHD treatment pathways within primary care and contributes to improving patient access to timely monitoring and review.

Blood pressure monitoring Pulse and cardiovascular observations Height, weight, and BMI measurements Other agreed physical health checks in line with clinical protocols

Blood Pressure Checks NHS Health Checks Diabetic Foot Checks Medical Photography -training can be provided. Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms as necessary Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a healthcare setting. Experience undertaking basic clinical observations and physical health assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently whilst recognising professional boundaries. Competent IT skills and experience using electronic patient record systems. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care.
Desirable
Experience working within primary care or community services. Knowledge of ADHD and neurodevelopmental pathways. Experience supporting long-term condition monitoring. Understanding of safeguarding and clinical governance requirements.
Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care -or equivalent experience.
