£11,634 - £12,169 per session (depending on experience)

Working Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

Due to the retirement of a long-standing GP after more than 30 years, we are delighted to offer a rare opportunity to join our friendly and well-established team at Newbold Surgery.

Main duties of the job About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Salaried GP with strong organisational skills and a positive attitude.

The role will include:

Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral of patientsManaging a defined patient listParticipation in core hours, duty/on-call rota, and extended accessContribution to practice development and service improvementAs a training practice, you will be actively involved in supporting GP Registrars and Medical Students, with the opportunity to take a lead role in undergraduate teaching for interested candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title Salaried GP

Responsible to:Partners and Practice Manager

Responsible for: Self

Place of work: Newbold Surgery 3 Windermere Road Newbold Chesterfield S41 8DU

Sessions: Up to 6 per week

Agreed hours of work

Flexibility of start and finish times to be mutually agreed.

Duties and Responsibilities

13 appointments (10 minutes slots) plus fair share of Emergency overspills per session

Own Blood Results, Lab Links & fair share of any GPs who are on holiday.

Own Workflows plus fair share of any GPs who are on holiday.

Fair share absent GPs prescriptions

Referral Letters

Telephone Consultations

Fair share of home visits

On-call/Duty Doctor WTE 1 per week with occasional 2 per week (cover Registrar on-call)

Extended Surgery WTE 1 per week

QOF Areas (optional)

Manage a Patient list as the Usual GP for a caseload of patients with associated paperwork.

Reports, during contracted hours

To be involved in the mentoring and support of trainees

This list represents general duties, is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended according to the changing needs of the Practice. Other duties may be included after suitable periods of training.

Entitlement

6 Weeks Annual Leave plus 1 week Study Leave

Training and Personal development

Be responsible for own Learning and Training Needs with ongoing Personal Development in line with appraisal process.

Develop and maintain a Personal Development Plan and meet annual requirements.

Participate in Mandatory Training, including QUEST afternoon on a Wednesday (participation is encouraged. If non-working day, time off in lieu given for attendance)

Team meetings to be attended as appropriate.

Adhere to practice ethos of maintaining a strong responsive team where workload is shared, and everyone is supported during busy times and absence.

Manage and assess risk within areas of responsibility and undertake such activities in a way that manages those risks.

Managing Information

Use IT as an aid in planning, presenting, and communicating information. Manage information using the clinical system, Computer Software, internet, databases and filing systems.

Confidentiality

Discretion and trustworthiness are paramount for the post as you will always be party to confidential conversations, documents, and information.

The post-holder will have access to confidential information relating to patients, and other healthcare providers. All such information is to be regarded as strictly confidential. Knowledge of such information must be treated with tact and diplomacy. Divulgence of any practice information will be in accordance with Practice Policies and Procedures relating to Confidentiality, Information Governance, Data Protection, and the protection of personal and sensitive data.

Due to the ever-changing demands of General Practice, the post holder may be required to work different days/hours as required by the Practice which may include Evenings and weekends.

Qualified GP MRCGP General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training CCT Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent

Trainer or an interest to become a Trainer to support our Medical Students
