Job summary
Diamond Medical Group are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated General Practitioner to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team in North Leeds. Applicants must hold MRCGP qualification, be GMC registered, included on the NHS Performers List, and have experience managing acute and chronic conditions within Primary Care. Confidence in delivering face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations is essential.
Sessions are available across the week, particularly Friday, with practice opening hours between 8:00am and 6:30pm. We will consider applications for between 4 and 6 sessions with a proposed start date from August 2026. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with a view to becoming permanent. Applications from newly qualified GPs accepted.
The role includes a mix of 10 and 15-minute appointments, approximately 28 patient contacts per day, shared home visits and use of SystmOne with a Total Triage model supported by PATCHs. As a Training Practice, we offer strong multidisciplinary support, protected learning time, opportunities for teaching, leadership and portfolio development, alongside an excellent employment package. We are a Training Practice and members of the Central North Leeds Primary Care Network (PCN), supporting a wider population of around 81,000 patients.

Job description Job responsibilities
The post holder will be a qualified General Practitioner registered with the GMC and included on the NHS Performers Register. The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and compassionate patient care within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment across Rutland Lodge Medical Practice, Shadwell Medical Centre, Oakwood Surgery and Carlton Gardens Surgery.
The role involves delivering high-quality clinical care through face-to-face, telephone, online and home visit consultations, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and working autonomously within professional boundaries while recognising when to seek support and guidance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-quality clinical care in line with GMC standards, national guidance and practice protocols. Deliver consultations via face-to-face, telephone, online systems (PATCHs) and home visits as required. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based practice. Request, interpret and act upon investigations, pathology results and diagnostic tests. Make referrals to secondary care and other healthcare professionals, including urgent and fast-track referrals where appropriate. Prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication in line with current prescribing guidance and legislation. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne. Participate in routine and urgent care delivery, including same-day and home visit responsibilities within the total triage structure. Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, PCN initiatives and quality improvement schemes. Undertake clinical administration including workflow management, correspondence and repeat prescription management. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team including pharmacy, nursing, community and mental health services. Participate in audits, clinical governance, safeguarding and significant event analysis activities. Support and supervise GP registrars and other learners within the practice. Attend and contribute to practice and Clinical meetings. Promote health education, self-care and preventative healthcare initiatives for patients.

Qualifications Essential
