Job summary Spire Washington Hospital are looking for an experienced Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner to join their theatre team on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

Act as anaesthetic assistantPrepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimumAdministering local anaestheticsAssess patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseloadDevelop care plans that are appropriate to the patient, taking into consideration the care pathway, perioperative risks and their wellbeing.Assist in the delivery of care to meet the patient's needs in an extremely busy departmentPrepping the recovery bays and of course, looking after patients after their surgeryProvide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious informationPromoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements

Anaesthetics and Recovery Practitioner | Theatres | Competitive Salary | Washington | Permanent

Spire Washington Hospital are looking for an experienced Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner to join their theatre team on a permanent basis. The role will provide excellent care and require the post holder to participate and contribute to proving services within the Theatre Unit.

Spire Washington is a 35 in-patient bedded hospital with 10 consultation and 2 treatment rooms based just off junction 63 of the A1 with great commuter links. Our Hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres covering specialities including Orthopaedics and Gynaecology and a full Diagnostic suite.

Duties and responsibilities;

Working as part of this friendly and supportive team you can expect to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including ENT, neurological, orthopaedic, laparoscopic, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology.

An interest in development and progression is encouraged and reinforced, offering the opportunity to complete the surgical first assist course and specialise within the surgical areas on offer. Our onsite education team will keep you up to date with BLS and ILS and you will be provided with your ALS training.

Registered Nurse with an anaesthetic qualificationOperating Department Practitioner with anaesthetic experienceExperience of working in teams and with minimum supervisionODP qualificationHCPC or NMC registrationAt least 2 years scrub experience Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
